PORTSMOUTH WINTER SNOOKER
DIVISION 2 Waterlooville C went on the road to Pompey Royals and came away with an 8 – 4 victory. For Waterlooville Rob Derry Sor played well to win his brace of frames and it was backed up as Richard Pickering also won his match picking up 2 frames. Highlight of Royals was Tony Lee who won his match but the night
belonged to Waterlooville. Emsworth B had to go to Cowplain X and they didn’t disappoint themselves as they beat the Cowplain side 9 – 3. It was all Emsworth from the start as John Morrison, Steven Cutler and then Paul Merrett all won their matches to give them a great start where they never lost. Also, for Emsworth Chester Bailey
drew his match but made a 38 break on the way.
Bellair X won a close encounter as they had home advantage and just edged it 7 – 5 against Cowplain Gas. The Gas men started well as Neil Kirby won his brace of frames, this was cancelled out by Bellair’s Phil Watson and then Gary Wilton who got the Bellair team just in front. The last 2 games were drawn so
it was Bellair who just got over the winning line.
Copnor D and Broadoak couldn’t be split as they fought out a 6 – 6 draw. Simon Munday for Broadoak played well as he won a couple of frames but back came Copnor with Andy Bushnell and then Tim Coombes getting the Copnor crew in front. It was at the end where Broadoak gave thanks to Simon Fleming
who held his nerve as he won a brace to level it up on the night.
DIVISION 1 Waterlooville Bananas produced a good performance as they beat Portchester X 9 – 3. For Bananas Wayne Rendle with a 50 break won his couple of frames and it was equally backed up with Dan Lee and Ben Cotton also winning. Ozzie Rendle in his drawn match made a 41 break and for Portchester Mat James
made a 53 break in his drawn match. Craneswater A won their match at home beating Bellair A 8 – 4. Rob Kirby was on form for Craneswater as he made a 48 break in his brace of frames. Joe Rigby helped as he won 2 frames with a 36 break too. Harry Yard completed the victory as he won his match. The highlight for Bellair was Simon Tulley who
won a brace for his team.

Craneswater R went to Emsworth and came away with a 7 – 5 win. It started superbly for Craneswater as Rod McBain and then Martin Richardson who both won their games a brace each. Richard Chapman and Tommy O’Neill got the Emsworth team back in at and level on the night as they won their 2 frames each. It was left to Lee Croft who made a 37 break in his win and that was the
defining moment as it got Craneswater past the winning post.
DIVISION 3 It was the battle of the Havant sides as the A team took on the B team but the A team who came away with the victory as they won 9 – 3. For the A side Brian Dobson, Paul Jewkes and Mark Mottershaw all won their matches and then at
the end Brian Dobson had to play again and he again won his match. Copnor E went on their travels to Broadoak Xcels and came away with a 9 -3 victory. Dan Walter continued his good form as he won a brace and that was backed up by Adam Osbourne with a 56 break and then at the end Stacey
Wearn with a 43 break in both the couple of frame wins. Cowplain Misfits had home advantage and it just proved the difference as they narrowly beat Alex B’s 7 – 5. Dean Bates for Cowplain won his 2 frames, this was cancelled out as Tony Norfolk winning his couple of frames. At the end was where Cowplain won it as Frank Baxter won his brace of frames to give the
Coplain side the win, but only just. In the last tie of the night, Broadoak Dandy’s went to NEBC and won 8 – 4. Jay Burgess won his match with a couple of frames for NEBC. It was at the 2″* part of the night where Dandy’s put on the pressure as Carl Fuggle, Darren Swanborough and then Kelvin Connor all won their matches to give the
Dandy’s a good night.
