DIVISION 1
What a break by Connor Benzy. The player plays for Waterlooville Bananas as they won 10 – 2 against Waterlooville C. Connor in his 2-frame win knocked in a superb break of 124. He was helped in the team with wins by Lee Rendle who made a break of 31, Ozzie Rendle and at the end Ben Cotton all of whom won a brace each.
Bellair went on the road to Cowplain and they came away with an 8 – 4 victory. For Bellair Dan Lumsden got his team off to a good start. Dusty Tingley and Simon Tulley both won a brace each to steer them over the winning line. Highlight for Cowplain Z was Steve Hughes who won a brace of frames to make it a bit respectable.
Emsworth A and Portchester X couldn’t be separated as they fought out a 6 -6 draw. Tommy O’Neil and Nick Fegan with a 40 break both 2 frames each. Portchester gave thanks to Adam Gillen and at the end Justin Andrews who both won their matches to level it up on the night.
In the last match of the night in this division, Craneswater and Post Office played out a 6 -6 draw. For Craneswater Andy Carter won his brace of frames but this was matched by Matt Paffett for Post Office. Ian Carter restored the lead for the home team Craneswater with his brace but this was matched again by Andrew Rigby for Post Office who did the same. Andy Boulton who drew his match made a 47 break.
DIVISION 2
Emsworth B had the biggest win as they went to Copnor Xcels and came away with a 9 – 3 result. For Emsworth Jim Baldwin and Wayne Talley both won their matches and picked up 2 frames each. Wayne Laxton for Copnor hit back and won his brace. It was at the end that Emsworth came good. Matt Beardsworth and Chester Bailey both won their games to secure a great win.
Craneswater R came away from Bellair with a 7 – 5 victory. It started with 2 draws but it was Grant Vernon Anthony Mitas-Pahita both won their matches and got their team over the line. Dave Riddell for Bellair won his match but all was in vain.
Copnor D went on their travels as they went to Pompey Royals and won a close battle 7 – 5. Paul Chivers for the Royals got them off to a good start. Andy Hall and Steve Green both won their braces for Copnor to give them the edge going into the final matches. These 2 matches were drawn with skipper of Copnor D Dave Glover made a good 59 break.
There was no splitting Copnor E and Cowplain Gas as they battled out a 6 – 6 draw. For Cowplain Craig Skeggs won his match but this was cancelled out by Leah Humphreys who won her match. Terry Lees got the Cowplain team back in front. It was up to Daniel Walter for Copnor who held his nerve to win his brace and level it up on the night.
DIVISION 3
Cowplain X had home advantage and they made good as they won 8 – 4 against ABC’s. For Cowplain Roy Steere won a brace but, this was matched by Danny O’sullivan who did the same. For Cowplain Will Garrett and James Curtis both won at the end and that was the difference and got them overt the winning line.
Broadoak Dandy’s played Havant at home and came good with an 8 – 4 victory. Terry Fuggle and son Carl Fuggle both won their 2 frames each and this was backed up by Kelvin Connor who did likewise. Joe Knight did a good job for Havant as he won his brace of frames, but the night belonged to Dandy’s.
Broadoak went on the road to ABC and won 8 – 4 win. It started well for ABC as Darren Paffett won his 2 frames. That was as good as it got for the home team as Broadoak gave thanks to Lance Cornwell, Simon Munday and Mark Restall all won their braces and then night was Broadoak’s.
NEBC continued their good start to the league as they had home advantage against Cowplain Misfits and won 8 – 4. Mike Dorey with a 30 break won his match and was helped on by team mates Mark Richmond and skipper Adrian Pledge who also won. Highlight for Cowplain was Ray Axton who won his 2 frames.
