It was the 1st week of the PRLC where all the teams are grouped into 4 groups A to D. Every match is played off league handicaps, with the biggest start set at 50.
GROUP C

That was it for the home team as Cowplain gave thanks to Neil Kirby, Ray Pitman, Keith Jones and Craig Skeggs who won a brace of frames, to give them the win.
There was no splitting NEBC and Portchester X as they fought out a 6 -6 draw. Justin Andrews for Portchester looked to be the difference as he won his 2 frames, but it was at the end where NEBC had Derek Sandy to thank as he cancelled out the deficit to bring the game level.
GROUP A

ABC’s went on the road to Emsworth B and came away with a 7 – 5 victory. Highlight for Emsworth was John Bateman who won his 2 frames but just wasn’t enough.
GROUP B
Broadoak had home advantage against Emsworth A and just got over the line 7 – 5. Andy White played well in his brace of frames. This was cancelled out by Ray Chapman who did likewise. The night looked to be heading for a draw until Lance Cornwell won his match and held his nerve at the end.

Pompey Royals went to Cowplain X and came away with a 7 – 5 victory. George Steere for Cowplain won his match but for Royals had Dave Chivers and Steve Orchard winning their brace of frames to take them over the line.
In the last match of the night Post Office took on Craneswater R and just edged it 7 – 5. Matt Paffett for the posties got them off to a good start, this was cancelled out as Spencer Nelson won his. Roy Kellett put the posties back in front only for Larry Vernon to keep it level. The game changed as Liam O’Driscoll won his match and that was the difference.
